Description and experienceShow

Fixed-size pens don't always suit every room or every stage of a small animal's life, which is why this PawHut playpen takes a DIY approach instead. Built from 12 individual panels joined with multi-angle connectors, the enclosure can be set up small and compact or expanded into a larger open space, and reshaped again later without needing new parts. This flexibility makes it well suited to hedgehogs, guinea pigs and other small animals of a similar size, giving owners room to adjust the layout as their pet's needs or available space change over time. Non-slip mats and cable ties are included to help keep the panels secure once assembled, reducing movement during everyday use. Altogether, this is a practical option for anyone who wants a small animal enclosure that isn't locked into a single fixed configuration.

Guarantees, usage and supportShow

Technical review and performance

The enclosure is built from 12 individual plastic panels joined using multi-angle connectors, allowing variable configurations rather than a single fixed shape. Non-slip mats sit at the base of the assembled pen, with cable ties provided to reinforce panel connections during use.

Expert take

The DIY, panel-based approach is what makes this playpen stand out from fixed-shape alternatives. Because the 12 panels connect via multi-angle connectors, you're not restricted to a single rectangular layout — the pen can be widened, narrowed, or reshaped around furniture or awkward room corners as needed, which is genuinely useful for owners working with limited or irregular space. It's well suited to hedgehogs, guinea pigs and other similarly sized small animals, particularly for owners who expect their space needs to change over time, such as moving the pen between rooms or adjusting the size as a pet grows. The included non-slip mats and cable ties are sensible additions that help keep an otherwise modular structure feeling secure day to day.
